Why visit Reykjanes Lighthouse?
Reykjanes Lighthouse stands on a coast shaped by surf and volcanic rock. Its clean silhouette gives the southwest tip a human scale, while the surrounding headland opens toward the ocean in every direction.
The lighthouse is a natural companion to Gunnuhver and Valahnúkamöl. Together they make a compact story about navigation, weather, erosion, and the exposed edge of the Reykjanes volcanic system.
Walking and accessibility
A path climbs Bæjarfell hill to the lighthouse. This uphill approach should not be assumed to be wheelchair accessible. The lighthouse is viewed from outside; the regional guide says visitors cannot enter the tower. Lower viewpoints and the surrounding coastal paths have different access conditions.
